VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
ADOPT D38 - This volunteer will be the liason between LPHS and the district's program coordinator. You will be the contact person for LPHS, responsible for taking donations, distributing Certificates of Adoption and publishing a public list of contributors. This program allows individuals, families, and businesses to adopt a teacher, department, or school by making a tax deductible donation. Please go to their web site for detailed information. Contact information is on the right side of this page under "Contacts"

AFTER PROM -
is the all night activity that occurs from 12:00-5:00 am after the LPHS prom. The committee consists of a chairperson and specific area coordinators. Volunteers do fund raising for the event, collect donations for food and prizes, run the casino games, print and sell tickets, arrange activity vendors, chaperone and work the event. It takes between 30-50 volunteers to make afterprom happen, so be sure to contact the After Prom coordinator if you are interested in helping with this event. Contact information is on the right side of this page under "Contacts"

AUGUST PROCESSING -
Volunteers are needed to work processing. There are 2 shifts each day during the 2 regular days of processing and 1 shift on the make-up day. Jobs include traffic control, yearbook orders, athletic passes, spirit wear sales, and health check help during freshman processing and locker assignment for seniors.

BACCALAUREATE (Senior Class) - A coordinator(s) is needed for this event who will be responsible for arranging the date and time with the school, scheduling speakers and/or performers, designing the program, and organizing refreshments. We also need volunteers to supply and serve the refreshments during the event. Please feel free to contact Sandi Brandl, Principal of LPHS, if you have any questions.

BOOSTER CLUB - This is the main fundraising group for our athletic teams, cheer/pom squads and band; each group needs a representative. If your student is in one or more of these groups, you will be contacted by the group representative when they need volunteers. All groups belonging to the booster club are required to participate in concession sales and various fund raisers. Please go to their web site for detailed information. Contact information is on the right side of this page under "Contacts"

BUILDING ADVISORY COMMITTEE (BAC)
- A BAC Chairperon and parent representative are needed. Each school year, as required by state law, a group of parents, community representatives, the LPHS Principal and teaching staff representatives form the LPHS Building Advisory Committee (BAC). BAC provides parents, the community, teaching staff and school administration a forum to monitor and discuss education at LPHS, share ideas, review policies and provide advice to school administration. BAC is an advisory group, not a policy-making committee. Its goal is to provide a forum for continual collaboration in order to monitor, enhance and improve the quality of education for our LPHS students. It's easy to get involved, just show up at a meeting! Meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of each month. We alternate between meeting during the day, at 1:00 pm, or in the evenings at 6:30 pm. The first meeting for the 2012-13 school year will be held Tuesday, September 18th at 1:00 pm at LPHS. Please go to their web site for detailed information. Contact information is on the right side of this page under "Contacts"

DANCES - Our dances during the year need parents to help with taking tickets, coat check, chaperoning and concession sales. Student Council will contact you with specific job assigments.

DECA JUDGES - No experience is necessary for judging, just a willingness to listen to and evaluate outstanding student presentations. Judges will evaluate students on their abilities to develop and communicate effective solutions to business problems. As a judge, you will be provided with detailed instructions on your role in the situation and how to score each student. You will be paired with another judge and will judge three role-plays in individual events or two in team events. Contact information is on the right side of this page under "Contacts"
